What We Do...

We offer our services as your outsource partner and bring a wealth of experience to your company. Our engineers aim to keep at the forefront of Rotational moulding technology, polymer/composite science, geotechnical and computational techniques.

We design, analyse and verify structural products for the rotational moulding industry by using our proven systematic technique "Rota Wheel" to take your idea or concept through to manufacture. We use the latest Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools including Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Finite Element Analysis Method (FEA or FEM). Upon request we can work to various Euro norms, British, DIN, ASTM and or AS/NZS standards and maintain an extensive library of standards and codes of practice.

DESIGN BRIEF

Define the specification, function and form, service conditions, standards and limitations of the product.

CONCEPT DESIGN

Evolve the design brief to a 3D model and review with client.

BASIC ANALYSIS

Undertake initial analysis and calculation as a risk assessment.

DESIGN REVIEW

At various stages throughout the design process undertake formal reviews to ensure design input equals design output.

DESIGN ITERATIONS

Incorporate design review output, identify areas of concern and amend design.

FINAL ANALYSIS

When satisfied the design is 'fit for purpose' run analysis to convergence.

VERIFICATION

When analysis is complete with a suitable factor of safety, the written report verifies the design and performance of the product.

DOCUMENTATION

Deliverables also include manufacturing drawings and 3D models to enable the product to be placed into production.

Martin Carder

Contact us - Martin Carder, founder of Rota Design Limited in 2004, has gained extensive experience in the plastics industry. He is a qualified engineer and received a (Hons) degree in Engineering at the University of Huddersfield, UK. Martin develops rotational moulded products for clients worldwide and is dedicated to protecting industry through universal application of best practice. Martin regularly attends trade shows and keeps at the forefront of technology in his specialist expertise (i.e. Finite Element Analysis).
